?A workshop on ‘Recovery and Regeneration’, organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Sports Training and Development Section, was held at the section’s premises at Manama Club in Juffair.
Angela Calder of Australia, an expert lecturer in coaching science, conducted this day-long workshop, which saw participants from different national clubs and sports federations in the fray.
The event focused on solving common faults among coaches in the field of recovery and regeneration, in an attempt to provide coaches with methods of the correct scientific ways to regulate the recovery and regeneration process.
The workshop also aimed to show the coaches what they should avoids common faults that could have prevent the team and the players from achieving sporting achievements, as several concepts and methods for dealing with long-haul flights in sports competitions were also presented.
Angela has a vast experience in the field of coaching science and has been actively involved in coaching science since 1987.
From 1990 to 2002 she worked for the Australian Sports Commission in both the Australian Institute of Sport and Participation Divisions as a science editor, coach educator, and high performance consultant.
Angela has over 90 publications mostly designed to inform coaches, athletes and officials, about sports science applications to their training and coaching practices.
She is an authority on recovery training and has worked extensively with many high performance teams, athletes, coaches, officials, and national sporting organisations.
