The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) is opening a weekly sport ‘Majlis’ in Ramadan at its premises in Seef today (June 12).
The initiative, presented by the BOC for the first time in Ramadan, is open for representatives of sports associations, administrators, referees, athletes and media.
It is in line with the BOC commitment to strengthen ties with sports authorities in Bahrain, while seeking to promote its community partnership plan with different sports organisations in Bahrain.
BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, who will be welcoming the visitors at the Majlis, invited all sports figures in Bahrain to attend this weekly gathering and discuss some of the most significant sports subjects.
Askar said the committee has already sent invitations to top figures from sports club, associations, athletes and media personnel to share their thoughts and opinions about any sports-related subjects.
He noted that the initiative is part of the committee’s programmes launched as per the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President, aimed to promote sports in general and boosts communication with the sports community in Bahrain.
