?Preparations for the Third Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al-Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work are in full swing as this year’s edition will be dedicated to overseas sports officials.
BOC Sports Affairs acting executive director Abduljalil Asad said the committee has received a list of candidates from national sports federations who will be honored on this occasion.
The first edition of the award, which took place in 2012, was a tribute to long-serving staff and sport reporters. Administrators who have worked for twenty-five years at least at different sport federations were honored.
In 2014, the awards ceremony took place for the second time to honor the first generation of the sports federations’ boards of directors.
The Advisory Committee for the award, headed by Bahrain Olympic Committee General Secretary Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, decided to dedicate this year’s event to sports officials with overseas posts.
