?Head of Sports Training and Development Section at the Bahrain Olympic Committee Nabeel Taha Al Shehab stressed the importance of the recently-announced annual plan, which aims to develop and qualify many technical and administrative cadres and in line with the strategy and vision of the committee, headed by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Al Shehab said that all courses to be organized by the section this year will be held in collaboration with experienced sports organisations such as Coaching Association of Canada and the World Academy of Sport, which signed agreements with the BOC based on the principle of partnership and continued cooperation to achieve mutual interests.
Al Shahab said the section will continue to organize the National Coaching Programme courses in all its four levels, in cooperation with the Coaching Association of Canada, following the great success since its inception in 1998,  and paid off by winning the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Creative Sports Award in 2011.
He noted that the programme has contributed to the graduation of many prominent coaches who later took helm of clubs and national teams inside and outside the Kingdom.
Al Shehab added that the sports management programme, which is now set to begin in its third edition this year in cooperation with the World Academy of Sport, has received significant support due to its positive influence on creating administrative cadres.
He also said that other courses like the sports management development, sports management and event management all aim to improve a group of administrative cadres that are able to hold responsibilities in different sports organisations.
Al Shehab the cooperation with the Education and Interior Ministries, where the section organizes a series of joint sports courses with both parties, stressing the keenness of the section to continue this cooperation for its positive benefits on the sports movement.
Al Shehab stressed the importance of the movement analysis courses using computer software (Dartfish), which the section organize twice a year to improve the performance of the national teams and clubs’ technical managers by analyzing the performance of the players in this programme, which has been rapidly spreading due to its significant value.
The section will also continue to hold a number of specialized technical and administrative workshops to give the largest possible number of coaches and technicians the opportunity to take advantage of its content, while signing some the most well-known instructors in these two areas to run the sessions.
