?The organizing committee of the Fourth School Mini Olympics, due to take place in April this year, has approved an all-new medals design for this year’s event.
The fourth edition of the Mini Olympics is organized by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and will involve schools from across the kingdom.
This statement was announced at the committee’s second preparatory meeting, chaired by Lounes Madene, at the Bahrain Olympic Committee premises in Seef.
Madene revealed the design of the gold, silver and bronze medals for the upcoming edition of the Mini Olympics, which are being manufactured in China.
The new medals will show the logo of the School Mini Olympics as well as the torch and the Bahrain Olympic Committee theme.
Madene noted the outstanding number of entries for this year’s event, which promises to be a record breaking compared to the previous editions of the Mini Olympics.
Open to private and government schools, the 2017 School Mini Olympics will see participants compete in various sports events, including table tennis, athletics, aquathlon, triathlon, volleyball, 3-on-3 basketball, swimming and jiu jitsu.
The School Mini Olympics aims to promote the concept of public health and creating a competitive sports environment among students, spreading knowledge and physical education among the younger generation.
It also seeks to promote the principles of Olympic values and ideals as well as to motivate young athletes practice sports activities and follow a healthy life style.
