The first phase of the Site Network Connectivity project for national sports federations was recently launched by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
Five federations – badminton and squash, disabled sports, swimming, volleyball and table tennis are the first to benefit from this first-of-its-kind initiative, providing the federations the opportunity of transforming its traditional operations into a more advanced electronic system.
This project will now be implemented on the above mentioned sports federations first, with other federations to follow suit in the near future.
BOC Information Technology director Nawaf Abdulrahman said this connectivity project represent one of the most important which the Bahrain Olympic Committee seeks to provide to these federations and will ensure that the process or service flows smoothly between the two sides.
Abdulrahman noted that this system will provide accuracy and speed in submitting the requests as well as an increased efficiency, control of incoming and outgoing mails, thus replacing the traditional papers with electronic letters.
He said this new network will save the federations lots of expenses, and noted that this project comes in line with the committee strategy to empower sports federations to focus on the sports field instead of administrative work, and to provide the best technical services in this regard.
