?Forty coaches attended the opening session of the National Coaching Programme Level 1 Course, being organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s (BOC) Sports Training and Development Section in Juffair.The course, sponsored by McDonalds and Chevron Bahrain, continues until November 30, is part of the section strategy in an attempt to qualify national coaches and develop their skills in a variety of sports.Sessions are being conducted by Mahmood Yateem, Ali Al Anzoor, Ahmed Ali and Mohsin Al Ghanem,  while a team of specialists is supervising the course. They include  Saeed Al Aradi and Ali Qamber.The National Coaching Programme aims to teach the coaches scientific basis of planning for all age groups categories, and skills analysis using mechanical principles, and the introducing methods of discovering faults and correct them using video recording.Other objectives include the introduction of specialized skills in each game to develop the players in their respective age groups, and teach them mental skills during training, and control the players emotions and increase their focus, and help the coaches develop competition strategy to maintain perfect performance for the players besides introducing methods to evaluate the mental state of the players.The program contains field and laboratorial physical tests to assess the physical condition and designing the players’ muscle strength programmes, besides getting to know different setups to develop muscle strength and analyze the nutrition behaviors of the players and ways to modify it.It’s worth noting that the National Coaching Programme has previously won the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for best sports institution, as it is regarded one of the finest technical programmes that aims to prepare and develop coaches in the field of sports, in collaboration with the Coaching Association of Canada.
