?Thirteen researches have been submitted for this year’s Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sports.
These researches include seven in sports management, five in sports training and one in sports medicine.
This was announced during the fourth meeting of the Executive Office of the award, which took place at the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) premises in Seef District.
It was chaired by BOC acting general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, and attended by general secretary of the award Dr Abdulrahman Sayyar, Abduljalil Assad, Mohammed Lori, Ahmed Al Jar, Dalal Salama and BOC IT Director Nawaf Abdulrahman.
Members of both the executive office and the technical committee of the award will meet tomorrow (THURSDAY) to set up technical standards for the evaluation process.
The Executive Office discussed the main topics on the agenda, as the meeting began with a review of the schedule of events associated with the award, as well as the researches, to be submitted to the Technical Committee for evaluation.
They also discussed the budget for the award, and called for the need to activate the media side in various fields, to commensurate with the volume of this award, in cooperation with the Information Affairs Authority and the local newspapers.
Both parties decided to submit a recommendation to the Board of Trustees with respect to this award, and set up the fifth meeting of the Executive Office on September 26.
It is noteworthy that the Nasser bin Hamad for Scientific Research Award in the Field of Sports aimed at promote positive attitudes towards scientific research to create knowledge and contribute to the development of sports movement, and honour students of excellence in scientific research, besides promoting the spirit of fair competitiveness among distinguished researchers in the field sports.
The winner in each part of the award will receive a certificate of appreciation, signed by Chairman of the Award of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the BOC, in addition to a cash prize and commemorative gift bearing symbol of the award.
