?Director of Bahrain’s delegation to the Fourth GCC Women’s Games Dr Maryam Mirza recently attended a number of meetings in Muscat ahead of the games, scheduled to take place from March 8 to 18 in Oman.
Maryam first attended a preparatory meeting for the delegations directors with four standing committees – services, accommodation, finance and transports, who reviewed latest preparations and arrangements made ahead of the fourth edition of this annual regional sporting event.
Among issues discussed were accommodation rates, the available transports and other subjects, aimed to provide all means of comfort for the delegations.
Late on, Maryam attended the delegations directors with the organising committee, chaired by Oman’s Sports Ministry undersecretary Shaikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Hinai and organising committee deputy chairman Sana bint Hamad Al Busaidi and representatives of the committee, who finalized a number of steps and recommendations.
Maryam’s three-day visit also included field visits to the facilities and sports courts, which will host the competition.
Visits were to the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, where competitions in handball, volleyball, basketball, taekwondo, tennis, athletics, and athletics for the disabled will take place, and Oman Bowling Club and the Shooting Range.
