Mardana attends youth Olympics seminar

?Head of Olympic Solidarity at the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) International Relations Maryam Mardana attended recently a seminar for the chefs de mission of the national teams competing in the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games, which will be held from October 6 to 18 in the Argentinean capital.
Mardana received key information about the games and examined the progress made on the construction of sports and lodging facilities.
She was also among representatives from 200 of the 206 countries competing in these games to attend informative meetings and visit the Olympic Village and sports facilities over three days during the visit.
The 2018 Youth Olympic Games will bring together 3,998 athletes between the ages of 15 to 18 from 206 countries, who will compete in 32 different sports.
The Olympic Village was officially inaugurated by the mayor of Buenos Aires, Horacio Rodriguez Larreta.
The organizing committee hope that the games would help in making the athletes close to the people. The inauguration ceremony will take place on the 9 de Julio Avenue and it is expected that several thousand people will attend.
The games will be the first to achieve complete gender equality and that much effort has been devoted to provide an attractive televised coverage.
