?A sports management course, organized by the Olympic Academy of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, came to a close on Thursday at the academy premises in Juffair.
Representatives of sports clubs and federations, youth centers and the Ministry of Education attended this week-long course, which was part of the academy’s annual plan aimed at developing and qualifying administrative competencies at various sports bodies in the field of youth and sports.
The closing ceremony was attended by Executive Director of Sports Affairs Abduljalil Asad, the Director of the Academy Dr. Nabil Taha, who honored all the participants with certificates of participation
They noted the importance of the course, which was designed to prepare participants for the post-graduate sports management course, stressing the keenness of the BOC to conduct various programs that contribute to the development of national administrators.
On the first day of the course, the main theme was titled “the launch of the Olympic Movement,” and “the relationship of the coach with administrative teams” by Dr. Taha.
The subject “Management of sports organizations” was then presented by training and development specialists Ahmed Ali, which was followed by a practical session.
On the second day, the course dealt with “Management skills in conflict resolution and risk management” by Director of the Strategic Office at BOC, Hassan Abdullatif, then the lecture “Technology in Sports” by coach and technical analyst Ali Abdulmajeed was delivered.
The third day included a lecture on “The values and ethics of sports” by Mahmoud Al Shaikh, followed by a lecture on “Sudden death of athletes” presented by director of National Sports Medicine Centre Dr. Khalid Al Shaikh, and finally a lecture on “anti-doping” by anti-doping specialist Zainab Anwar.
The fourth day saw a lecture on “Fair Play and Sports Ethics” by Dr. Taha, followed a session on “Meetings and time managements” by Mr. Mahmoud Al Shaikh, and finally a presentation on “Planning a sports mission” by Dr. Taha.
The fifth day started with a lecture on “Olympic solidarity programmes” by Olympic solidarity head at BOC Mariam Mardana, then media manager Hasan Ali presented a session on “History of media at the Olympic Games and the skills to deal with media representatives”. The sixth and last day featured a lecture on “planning a sports trip” by Dr. Nabil Taha.
