?Bahrain’s women athlete Lishan Dula raced to victory at the Nandu Marathon Buenos Aires in Argentina. More than 11,000 runners competed at the marathon, which was over 42km.
Lishan finished the event with a time of 02:39:14. She bested Almaz Negede Fekade who crossed the finish line 3 minutes 13 seconds behind her. While Adela Barrios came in third at 02:48:49.
The marathon is regarded one of the most prestigious events organized in South America and in the world as participants toured different landmarks of the Argentinean capital.
The Bahraini runner said she was excited for the win and dedicated this achievement to Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first vice-chairman, West Asian Athletics Federation president and Bahrain Athletics Association president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
It’s worth noting that the sprinter took the bronze medal in the 42-km marathon at the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea in 2014.
