?Abdulla Janahi yesterday (Tuesday) extended his impressive run at the 18th Asian Games, being held in Jakarta and Palembang.
On the penultimate day of sailing, Janahi was able to claim six points from his laser standard eighth and ninth races with three races remaining. The Bahraini contender hopes to improve on his next races positions to stay in contention for podium.
The 30-year-old Janahi is presently in eighth position with 67 points in total and 58 net points, with the next two races scheduled for today. The 12th and last race will be held on Friday. The top three sailors will receive their medals on the concluding day.
Meanwhile, Bahrain Olympic Committee board member and president o the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation Khalid Al Khayyat said his athlete Murtada Ali is now set for the sambo events starting tomorrow.
In cycling, Yahya Diab will begin his campaign today when the 90km track race takes place. Diab started his preparations in the Indonesian capital over the past few days and had his last training at the race venue.
