?President of the University of Bahrain Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Janahi said that the 56th ICHPER.SD Anniversary World Congress and Exposition, which will take place in the Kingdom of Bahrain next month, is an opportunity for graduate students, teachers and administrators to exchange knowledge and ideas with sports experts from all over the world.
The congress is scheduled to be held from December 18 to 20 at the Crowne Plaza in Manama, and is organized by the Bahrain Olympic Committee in cooperation with the International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sports and Dance, and the University of Bahrain.
Commenting on the officials website of the UoB, Janahi said the congress in its 56th edition represents a historic landmark event, with its theme this year being “Towards Building a New Sports System”. Janahi noted that this edition congress will shed the light on several issues on the domestic and global levels.
The university has signed last July a memorandum of understanding with the Bahrain Olympic Committee to participate in this international event and to become an academic and scientific partners, as the Faculty of Physical Education and Physiotherapy will be contributing in organising the congress.
The UoB president said the university’s contributions will promote the importance of sport at the university and domestic level, and wished the conference will bring out some recommendations to promote the progress of sport on the Arab, continental and global levels.
On her part, the Faculty of Physical Education and Physiotherapy Dean and head of the Jury Committee at the congress Dr. Mona Saleh Al Ansari said the organizing committee has received 132 research, including 92 Arab and 40 foreign research.
According to Al Ansari, these research will be sorted and studied by a special jury committee and Graduate Studies Dean Dr Huda Al Khaja, along with other members of the faculty at the University of Bahrain and other universities. 
The organisers are scheduled to announce a statement with a set of principles and recommendations that will be brought up by the congress.
It is noteworthy that the congress will discuss many important scientific research papers related to the areas of health, sports and physical education and recreation. The council is chaired by Dr Adel El Nashar Professor, Professor at the Physical Education and Physiotherapy Faculty.
