?Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant secretary general and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) secretary general Abdulrahman Askar welcomed members of Bahrain national junior handball team on return from Muscat, where they achieved the bronze medal at the Asian Junior Championship.
The result helped Bahrain snatch third place and secure a place in the next World Championship, to be held in Spain.
Askar congratulated the delegation, headed by Bahrain Handball Association president Ali Isa Eshaqi, and vowed to continue the committee’s support to this team in an attempt to extend their outstanding performance in the world championship.
The BOC secretary general also praised the results of the team at the championship, which came as a result of a well-planned programme by the association.
He also attributed the achievement to the significant support of the country’s leadership to sports teams in Bahrain, and expressed pleasure for winning three gold medals for the first time in in a single Arab championship.
On his part, Eshaqi congratulated the country’s leadership on this result, which he said was a result of the significant support of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President.
