Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) secretary general Mohammed Al Nusuf congratulated Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, on the occasion of Bahrain hosting the International Half-Marathon.
Al Nusuf congratulated Shaikh Khalid, the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first vice-chairman, West Asian Athletics Federation president and Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) president, on the success of the race in Bahrain on Friday.
Al Nusuf paid tribute to the association’s contribution to raising athletics standards, and commended its efforts in making this event a great one. He also hailed the initiative of Shaikh Khalid in attending the half-marathon and honoring the winners.
The BOC secretary general also noted that outstanding turnout from the sport fans in Bahrain, in addition to the remarkable organization in general, which reflects the abilities of the kingdom in bringing some of the world’s biggest sporting events on its home soil.
Al Nusuf added that Bahrain’s first-ever international night half-marathon saw more than 800 men and women’s athletes from inside and outside the nation in the fray, and noted that such turnout would boost the kingdom’s tourism and economy sectors.?
