GCC Olympic Committees President meeting today

?Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa today (April 21) will chair the 28th meeting of GCC National Olympic Committees’ Presidents in Kuwait.
The meeting is part of an annual GCC summit organized to boost ties among national Olympic Committees in the Arabian Gulf region.
Kuwait Olympic Committee President Shaikh Dr Talal Al Ahmed Al Subah will chair today’s meeting, to be also attended by other heads of the GCC national Olympic Committees.
They are Prince Nawaf bin Faisal Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Maktoum of the UAE, Khalid Al Zubair of Oman and Qatar’s Shaikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
A number of topics will be discussed in this key meeting, such as the GCC Sport and Environment Award, the GCC Sport Organising Committee Award, reviewing the joint GCC action bylaws in the field of sport as well, as the regulations of the GCC Games and GCC Beach Games.
Other issues include the recommendations of the Second Conference on GCC Sport and Environment held in Doha in 2013, besides the proposal submitted by Yemen, Jordan and Morocco to join the GCC sport system.
Meanwhile, General Organisation for Youth and Sports president Hisham Al Jowder yesterday headed the Bahrain side at the 31st meeting of the GCC Youth and Sports Ministries Undersecretaries meeting.
The undersecretaries have submitted a number of recommendations to presidents of the GCC national Olympic Committees for their meeting today.
Kuwait’s Ministry Of State Assistant Under-Secretary for Youth Affairs Dr Fawaz Al Husainan chaired yesterday’s meeting, in which he thanked the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting last year’s summit.
Al Husainan asserted the importance of these meeting being held in Kuwait, which aim to further promote relations among people of the GCC and laying down the basis of joint GCC action, hoping that this summit will come out with fruitful decisions for the development of youth movement in the Arabian Gulf region.
