?As the countdown for the 2019 Bahrain Sports Day already is already underway, the organizing committee has stepped up its preparations to host what promises to be a phenomenal edition of the event, scheduled for Tuesday (February 12).
Headed by Abdulrahman Sadeq Askar, the Organizing Committee is putting its final touches with only two days left for the festivities, which will take place in different parts of Bahrain.
And as per the Organizing Committee proposal, a decision to scrap the use of electronic elevators from the first floor to the third will be applied in all government bodies and ministries.
It is also applicable to companies and institutions in an attempt to encourage employees to use stairs to reinforce the culture of movement and sports activity within offices, taking into account the people with special needs and the elderly and anyone who are not capable of using stairs.
General Coordinator of the Executive Committee Fatima Al Sakran said all the standing committees have completed their preparations and are finalizing the organizing process at the Sports Village, which will be the main venue for festivities at Isa Sports City (the National Stadium), or at the remaining three governorates.
Al Sakran added that all interested citizens in joining the sports day should submit their entries on www.sportsday.com, or follow the Bahrain Olympic Committee social media accounts.
On her part, Northern Governorate representative Hayat Al Helaibi said her governorate has prepared a comprehensive progamme that features sports and entertaining activities for Tuesday’s event, and in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, to allocate half-day at work for sports activities.
She said the Northern Governorate is always keen to interact with such programmes and national festivals that bring positive impact on the community, and thanked the organisers for their efforts to make this event happen every year.
Meanwhile, the organizing committee has allocated a dedicated area at Al Ramli Mall in A’ali to promote the Bahrain Sports Day activities.
 The facility welcomed children  and adults alike to submit their entries for the color marathon event that will take place at the main sports village at Isa Town Sports City. 
The initiative was developed by marketing committee chairman Mahmood Ashoori, who thanked Al Ramli Mall management for supporting this idea.
