Bahrain Olympic Committee board member and Women’s Sport Commission chairwoman Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa had a fruitful meeting with officials from national sports federations that will represent the nation at the upcoming GCC Women’s Sports Games in Kuwait.
The women’s most prestigious sporting event will be held from October 20 to 30 with teams from all over the region expected to compete in a variety of sports disciplines.
Shaikha Hayat extended her gratitude to Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, for supporting Bahrain teams’ participation at this event.
During the meeting, the technical regulations of the games were reviewed, while the rules for the volleyball competition is yet to be received and will soon be looked into.
Representatives of the Bahrain sports federations also presented their suggestions and ideas to ensure smoothness of their participation, as Shaikha Hayat stressed the importance of communication between the federation and the administrative commission in Kuwait to complete certain arrangements ahead of the teams’ arrival for the competition.
Shaikha Hayat expressed confidence that Kuwait would pull off another successful event this year after they hosted a memorable the inaugural edition in 2008.
She also urged the federations to put all the efforts together in an attempt to come up with an honorable appearance during the sixth edition of the games.
