?Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar yesterday (Saturday) urged Bahrain supporters to flock to Khalifa Sports City Stadium today for Bahrain’s crucial match against South Korea in the AFC U-19 Championship.
After their sensational last-minute 3-2 victory over two-time champions Saudi Arabia on the inaugural day on Thursday, Bahrain will look to secure their berth in the second round of the competition, should they claim their second successive victory tonight. The match kicks off at 7.30pm.
Askar congratulated the team on their honorable performance and result in the first match and commended the high spirits of the players and the efforts of the team management, which played a key role in the victory over the Saudis.
The general secretary noted that the presence of the Bahrain fans today is important in order to motivate members of the team in this tough match against 11-time AFC U-19 Champions South Korea, who enter the competition as the No. 1 title favourites.
