?The American Embassy in Bahrain has announced its support to the 2019 Bahrain Sports Day, scheduled for February 12.
The event is organized for the third consecutive year by the Bahrain Olympic Committee in cooperation with the Education Ministry and in collaboration with Bahrain’s ministries, the private sector and the four governorates in an attempt to promote a healthy lifestyle.
During a meeting with Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) sports affairs executive director Abduljalil Asad, projects manager Lounes Madene and sports associations supervision head Fadi Humaidan, US embassy media and cultural office Karin Ehlert, joined by office staff Najem Swar, revealed the embassy’s contribution by setting up a private booth at the event venue in Isa Town.
Ehlert noted that the booth will be offering a practical workshop to teach the skills of American football by a team of experienced coaches that will be hired by the embassy specially for this occasion.
Brochures and booklets on the most popular sport in the United States will also be presented to the crowd on the day.
She expressed gratitude and appreciation to the BOC for giving the embassy the opportunity to provide this workshop at the sports village, and commended the efforts exerted by the committee to promote sports awareness among citizens and residents alike in the country.
On his part, Asad affirmed the committee’s willingness to fully cooperate with the US Embassy in this regard to enrich the Bahrain Sports Day festivities, and expressed his pride in the embassy’s contribution to this national event.
