?The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) started activating its most recent project for its customers by transforming its traditional operations into a more advanced electronic system.
This project will now be implemented on four national sports federations – football, volleyball, basketball and handball, with other federations to follow suit in the near future.
A workshop involving representatives of the four sports federations and the BOC was held yesterday at the committee premises in Seef, where BOC Information Technology director Nawaf Abdulrahman made a presentation on this project, which will facilitate 33 electronic requests between the committee and these federations.
Abdulrahman noted that the project has already tested on the committee departments, and is expected to reach out to the federations shortly.
He added that this system will provide accuracy and speed in submitting the requests as well as an increased efficiency, control of incoming and outgoing mails, thus replacing the traditional papers with electronic letters.
Abdulrahman said the committee is also planning to hold a series of extensive training workshops for representatives of national sports federations in an attempt to teach them on how to use this new system.
He noted that applying the system is in line with the committee strategy to implement a package of other systems, which will help in making a quantum leap in the communication process between the BOC and national sports federations.
