Participants in the Sports Management Course received their certificates yesterday (Thursday) in Juffair.
There were 29 officials representing different sports federations at the course, organized by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s (BOC) Sports Training and Development Centre.
The course was in compliance to the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Solidarity programmes.
It was also part of the annual plan of the Sports Training and Development Centre in an attempt to develop the management skills of sports federations’ officials in the kingdom.
A team of sports management experts, led by Sports Training and Development Centre director and international instructor Nabeel Taha, conducted this week-long course.
BOC media, public relations and marketing director Mohammed Lori and Strategic Planning director Hasan Abdullatif, IT director Nawaf Abdulrahman, management instructor Mahmood Al Shaikh and National Coaching Programme instructor Ahmed Ali were others who presented the course.
BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar patronized the closing ceremony and handed over the certificates to the participants.
Askar noted the importance of such courses in qualifying and developing national sports officials at different sports organisations.
He also thanked al the instructors of this event, and asserted the committee’s keenness to organize various sports courses and in compliance with the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and BOC President.
