?The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) today (Sunday) will be presented with the Drassa Award for Sports Science for the best initiative professional organization.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar will collect the award at the awards ceremony in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
The awards ceremony will be held under the patronage of Mohammed bin Abdulmalik bin Abdullah Al Al Shaikh, chairman of general authority for sport.
The awards night is one of the programs that have an impact in sports science, and will shed the light through the forum themes to support the future of sport in the Arab region in all its aspects, as invited academics, workers and researchers in the sports sector.
This award was granted as per an official letter from the award council, which adopted Drassa Award for Sports Science, one academic research and development of sports science activities that support the expansion of sports base to strengthen cooperation with the bodies and institutions working in the field of sport.
The decision was announced after third session of Arab Sports Initiatives international 2016 – 2017, which was attended by more than 120 file from 11 Arab countries and competed for the competitive award categories.
BOC’s win was as per its initiative – Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Award for Scientific Research in the sports field – in an attempt to further develop its services to the public.
