?The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) held its staff annual gathering at the Regency Hotel in Manama.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, along with other board members, attended the function.
The event started with a short film, after which Askar presented a speech. He thanked Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President for his contributions to Bahrain winning more than 4,000 medals since taking over the committee presidency.
Askar noted that the awards won by BOC at the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Awards Ceremony in 2016 underlines the high-level organized work adopted by the Bahraini committee under Shaikh Nasser’s management.
Late on, Human Resources staff Fatima Al Saaf delivered her speech on behalf of the honored employees, in which she thanked the committee for backing its affiliated members and vowed to continue their give their best to maintain the committee’s outstanding reputation among leading national Olympic committees around the globe.
Forty-two of the committee’s representatives were honored for their distinguished efforts, while Bahrain Olympic Academy director Nabeel Taha was also presented with a special award for his recently-obtained Positive psychology PhD degree.
