?Representatives of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) will head for Kuwait today (April 18) to attend the GCC National Olympic Committees Presidents’ meetings starting today.
BOC acting general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, along with Corporate Communication acting director Fajer Jassim, and Media Directorate senior administrator Hassan Ali, will be attending the meetings which concludes on April 21 at the Regency Hotel.
Kicking off the meetings will be the Coordination and Follow Up Committee meeting today at 8pm.
It will be chaired by Abduljalil Asad, and attended by members Adel bin Nikhi of Kuwait, Bader Al Mansoor of Saudi Arabia, Oman’s Salem Al Masroori of Oman, Saultan bin Fares of the UAE, Qatar’s Tareq Al Abdulla, in addition to a representative from the GCC General Secretariat.
Asad and other committee will hold talks on the previous meeting report, in addition to studying a plan to the controls of the players taking part in different age categories in GCC championships.
This will be followed by a dinner banquet by the Kuwait Olympic Committee at 9pm in honour of the General Secretaries of the GCC.
The 80th meeting of the GCC National Olympic Committees Presidents’ Executive Committee members will be held the following day, while the 28th meeting of the GCC National Olympic Committees Presidents’ meeting is scheduled for Monday. It will be followed by the awarding ceremony to honour winners of the GCC Sport Organising Committees Award and the Sport and Environment Award.
