?Senior officials from the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) today (Friday, December 26) will visit Kuwait to attend the 82nd meeting of the Executive Committee of the GCC National Olympic Committees’ Presidents, scheduled for tomorrow.
BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar is heading the Bahrain delegation, which also includes committee sports advisor Abduljalil Asad, Resources and Services executive director Ali Zubari and Arab Affairs executive coordinator Mohammed Al Zayed.
This meeting will bring a number of significant topics on the Executive Committee agenda, such as the Second GCC Games in Dammam in 2015, as well as the Second GCC Beach Gams in Doha the same year.
Other issues to be discussed at tomorrow’s meeting include a massive sport development strategy, a GCC sports dispute resolution committee project, the GCC motor sports organising committee, a possible cooperation between the GCC  and Morocco in the field of sports, a requested by the BOC to include table tennis within GCC sports games, the GCC organizing committees budgets project and plans for 2015.
The Bahraini officials will also be attending the 13th joint meeting of the Executive Committee and the GCC Sports Organising Committees, due to take place on Sunday.
Some of the subjects to be addressed at this meeting include a presentation on Shaikh Nasser Scientific Research Award in the Field of Sports, a presentation on the regional organization programmes’ systems, and a proposal to activate the regional organization role in organizing anti-doping programmes during the Gulf competitions.
