?A delegation from the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) will leave for Kuwait today (Feb. 28) to attend the 79th meeting of the Executive Office of GCC National Olympic Committees.
BOC acting general secretary Abdulrahman Askar will head the Bahrain delegation to the meetings, which are scheduled to take place from February 28 to March 3.
Askar will travel along with BOC sports advisor Abduljalil Asad, Information Technology director Nawaf Abdulrahman, BOC International Affairs executive coordinator Ahmed Al Qarainees and general secretary office secretary Mohammed Al Rashidi.
The summit begins today with the Coordination and Follow-up Committee meeting, to be chaired by Asad. It also includes Adel bin Nikhi of Kuwait, Bader Al Mansoor of Saudi Arabia, Salem Al Masrori of Oman, Sultan bin Fares of the UAE and Qatar’s Tareq Al Abdulla.
During this meeting, a special proposal submitted by Yemen to join the complete sports system in the GCC will be discussed. It will be followed by another meeting to discuss the posibile ways of cooperation with the Kingdoms of Jordan and Morocco.
Meetings continue tomorrow with the consultative meeting on the bylaws, to be followed by the GCC Sport Award committee meeting.
The summit concludes on Sunday with the 79th meeting of the Executive Office of GCC National Olympic Committees, in which several crucial points will be reviewed.
It’s worth noting that the executive office of the GCC Olympic Committees Presidents comprises Obaid Al Anezi of Kuwait, Abdulrahman Askar of Bahrain, Mohammed Al Kammali of the UAE, Mohammed Al Beshil of Saudi Arabia, Oman’s Taha bin Sulaiman Al Kashri and Mishal Al Khalifa of Qatar.
