The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) vowed to support the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation (BDSF) in organizing the first National Day Championship, scheduled to take place in December.
During their joint meeting, BOC sports federation director Hisham Al Balooshi was presented with a report from BDSF representatives Ali Nabhan and Sabah Al Thawadi on the five-day event, in which several athletes from the Bahrain national team and special need centres will be taking part.
Al Balooshi admired the initial programme of the championship, and extended the BOC commitment to back the federation in the kingdom in order to boost its sports and ability to qualify promising athletes and compete in various overseas events.
On his part, Al Thawadi expressed appreciation to the committee for its continued support to the federation, especially for this coming challenge, which represents one of the significant stops for the federation to discover young talents.
Al Thawadi also viewed all requirements of the federation for the championship, and noted that these contests are due to take place at Khalifa City Stadium in Isa Town, where they seek to attract the largest possible number of centres for special need athletes.
The meeting was also attended by BOC representatives Nawaf Abdulrahman, Hamad Buhijji, Mohammed Salman, Hassan Ali and Dalal Salama.
