?The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) yesterday (SEPTEMBER 4) approved its programme for the remaining of 2013 for six sports federations.The programme includes international appearances as well as training camps and hosting regional competitions, which begin this month with the under-16 football team taking part in the GCC Championship. Also this month, the national snooker team will compete in the Nine-Ball World Championship in Qatar, while the pigeons team is also set to battle in the Bahrain Cup, to be organised in Pakistan later this month.The under-17 volleyball team are scheduled to participate in the GCC Championship in Saudi Arabia from September 7, while a six-day practice camp has been also finalized for Bahrain’s senior men’s football team in Kuwait from September 5 to 10.The table tennis team will then represent the kingdom at the 6th GCC Championship, due to take place in Jeddah, in Saudi Arabia from September 6 to 14.BOC’s sports federations affairs executive co-ordinator Hamad Al Baker said the sports federations affairs directorate is keen to serve all federations in Bahrain and facilitate its procedures related to its overseas participations, hosting tournaments or conducting training camps, which come in line with the directives of committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.Al Baker lauded the federations for their co-operation with the sports federations affairs directorate, and called to activate the communication process and called for the activation of the communication process and completion of financial settlements, besides preparing their plans in order for the directorate to undertake its financial and legal procedures to serve the federations and facilitate their tasks the best way possible.
