?Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar stressed his keenness to assist the Bahraini athletes studying at different universities across the kingdom to achieve their academic aspirations.
This came during his meeting with Gulf university acting president Muhannad Al Mashhadani at the BOC office in Seef.
Both parties discussed means of cooperation as Askar commended the significant role of the university in the graduation of its students, who are playing a major part in the country’s development at various specialties.
The two officials also talked about the possibility of signing an agreement in the near future to provide the student athletes tuition fees discounts and to facilitate their participation in international competitions.
Askar said this approach is part of the BOC commitments to encourage the athletes to educational attainment and help them achieve scientific and sport excellence.
The BOC general secretary added that the committee is keen to build bridges of cooperation with the Gulf University, which implements its own strategy aimed at boosting ties and promoting community partnership with various companies and establishments across the nation.
On his part, Mashhadani said he was extremely pleased with this partnership with the Bahrain Olympic Committee, which plays a big part in the development of sports movement in the kingdom.
