Bahrain to host GCC women’s sports panel meeting

??The Kingdom of Bahrain will host the 19th meeting of the GCC Women’s Sports Organising Committee on Monday, November 19.
The meeting, to be chaired by committee chairwoman Shaika Naima Al Ahmed Al Subah of Kuwait, will be held on the sidelines of the Fourth GCC Women’s Volleyball Championship that s scheduled to take place in Bahrain from November 10 to 16.
The committee also includes Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) member and Women’s Sport Committee chairwoman Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Noora Al Suwaidi (UAE), Ahlam Al Manea (Qatar) and Sana’a bint Hamad Al Busaidi (Oman).
A number of important issues on the committee’s agenda will be discussed in an attempt to take decisions aimed to develop women’s sports in the GCC.
Other subjects include promoting joint GCC action in the field of women’s sports, adopting a variety of programmes and approving the women’s sports competitions that would contribute to boost women’s sports in the region.
The committee members started arriving in Bahrain yesterday, as the Bahrain Olympic Committee has finalized all arrangements from the delegations reception to accommodation and transports.
UAE’s Sharjah Club Women’s Sports director Nada Askar was the first to touch down on the island yesterday and is also scheduled to attend the GCC Women’s Volleyball Championship at the invitation of the Bahrain Olympic Committee Women’s Sports Committee.?
