?Officials from the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) today (Friday) will attend the General Assembly meeting of the West Asian Games Federation (WAGF) in Kuwait.
BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, along with board member and Women’s Sport Committee chairwoman Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulazi Al Khalifa, will be among high-ranking sports officials from across the West Asia’s region attending this significant gathering.
The meeting, to be chaired by WAGF president Dr. Shaikh Talal Fahad Al Ahmad Al Sabah,will bring a number of proposals from the board members as well from National Olympic Committees.
Late on, both Askar and Shaikha Hayat are also due to attend the extraordinary general assembly meeting that will discuss the proposed amendments on the federation’s statute.
It’s worth noting that the WAGF is based in Kuwait and includes representatives of 13 countries – Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Palestine, the UAE, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Yemen, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait.
