?Bahrain’s junior and youth table tennis teams had a special welcome ceremony on return from Tunisia where they competed at the Arab Championships, which recently came to a close.
The youth team bagged the competition’s title after beating Egypt in the final, while the junior team came second to champions Saudi Arabia.
Bahrain Table Tennis Association president, Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) board member and women’s sport committee chairwoman Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa headed the delegation back to Bahrain.
They were welcomed on arrival at Bahrain International Airport by high-ranking sports officials, headed by BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar.
Askar congratulated the teams on this achievement and conveyed the greetings of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC president to players.
The BOC general secretary lauded the outstanding results of both teams in the tournaments, which he attributed to the noticeable development of the game in the kingdom of Bahrain.
On her part, Shaikha Hayat stressed the importance of this achievement, which she dedicated to Shaikh Nasser and Askar thanks to their continued support to the teams as they geared up for the competition.
