Bahrain has intensified its preparations to compete at next month’s Fourth GCC Women’s Games in Muscat.
The games is scheduled to take place from March 8 to 19, where the kingdom will be sending nine disciplines – volleyball, basketball, handball, athletics, bowling, taekwondo, endurance horse ride, shooting and athletics for special needs. 
Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) member and Bahrain delegation head Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa today (February 2) will hold a meeting with representatives of the nine sports associations to follow up the arrangements made before the teams departure for the games.
The meeting, which will be staged at the committee premises in Seef at 6pm, will be also attended by BOC Arab public relations head Mohammed Al Zayed and delegation director Dr Maryam Mirza and deputy director Maryam Mardana.
In the third edition of the games, which took place in the Kingdom of Bahrain in March 2014, the host country emerged overall champions with 53 medals in total.
