?The Kingdom of Bahrain has stepped up its preparations to organize the GCC Tennis Championships, scheduled to take place from November 17 to 21.
All six GCC nations – Saudi arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Oman and hosts Bahrain will be taking part in the five-day tournament, which will feature under-12 and under-16 age categories competitions.
Meanwhile, Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar  visited the Bahrain Tennis Federation premises in Isa Town, where he inspected the facilities that will embrace the event.
During his visit, Askar met BTF president Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, vice-president Ahmed Al Eid, general secretary Fuad Al Ruwaie, and board members Mohammed Salman, Adnan Kamal.
Both parties discussed the federation needs to organize the championship, such as the logistic requirements, as well as getting qualified coaches to supervise the national teams, and some renovation works at the federation premises.
Shaikh Ahmed thanked the BOC, headed by Supreme Council for Youth and Sports president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for its continued support to all sports organisations in Bahrain, especially the BTF.
The BTF president said the federation is sparing no efforts to provide all that would ensure the coming event is a great success, and noted that this constructive cooperation with the committee would establish an active partnership, which in turn will lead to a very successful and memorable tournament.
