?High-ranking sports officials from Bahrain today will leave for Amman, in Jordan to attend the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees (UANOC) meeting on Saturday.
UANOC first vice-president Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa will head the Bahrain delegation, which also includes Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar and committee sports advisor Abduljalil Asad.
The meeting agenda will highlight three key themes – presenting the strategic plan of the UANOC submitted by a committee of Arab experts to develop activities and programs of the union.
They will also hold discussions of the union’s statute amendment in accordance with the significant development in the field of sports, as well as the resignation of His Royal Highness Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the UANOC, and recommending new president of the union for the completion of the electoral cycle, where Prince Talal bin Bader Al Saud is the lonely candidate for this post.
Shaikh Isa will also be chairing the 31st Executive Office meeting  of the union, to be held ahead of the Emergency General Assembly meeting, while the new President will chair the union’s 32nd Executive Office meeting, to be held after the Emergency General Assembly, on Saturday.
