?The management of the Bahrain delegation to the Fourth GCC Women’s Games had a coordinating meeting with representatives of the sports associations competing at the games.
The fourth edition of the games is scheduled to take place in Muscat from March 8 to 18 with representatives of the six GCC nations to compete in a variety of sports events.
Addressing the sports associations officials at the meeting, Bahrain Olympic Committee member, women’s sport committee chairwoman and head of the Bahrain delegation to the games Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa presented a report on her meeting with the organizing committee of the game held in Muscat recently, where they reviewed final arrangements made for the event.
Shaikha Hayat said the organizing committee has already approved new timetable for the competitions as well as their venues and five accommodation locations.
She stressed that the Bahrain delegation members should obey the rules and regulations during the games, and urged the associations’ representatives to prepare their respective teams for this major regional championship.
The coordinating meeting was also attended by Bahrain delegation deputy head Mohammed Al Zayed, director Dr Mayam Mirza, deputy director Maryam Mardana, treasurer Abdulla Rabeia, and representatives from the nine sports associations.
They are athletics, handball, basketball, volleyball, equestrian and endurance, shooting, taekwondo, bowling and sports for the disabled.
