The kingdom of Bahrain started its preparations for this year’s Asian Beach Games, set to take place in Vietnam from September 24 to October 3.
Bahrain will be sending four teams to compete at the games, namely handball, jiu jitsu, wrestling and weightlifting.
A first meeting of the administrative team was held at the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) premises in Seef to discuss all matters and the delegation needs before heading for the games.
This meeting was chaired by chef de mission Sultan Al Ghanem, and attended by BOC technical director Madene Lounes, and representatives of the four associations – Saleh Al Ammar (weightlifting), Isa Khalid and Ahmed Janahi (wrestling), Reda Hussain (handball) and media representative Ahmed Mahdi.
The fifth edition of the games will be held at the popular tourist destination of Nha Trang in Danang, bringing 45 nations and over 2,500 athletes to compete in 14 sports, 22 disciplines and 172 events at four venue clusters along the city’s sweeping bay.
