?Sponsors of the recently-concluded First Bahrain Baby Olympics were presented with special awards by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), the event organisers.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant secretary general and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) secretary general Abdulrahman Askar was present at the ceremony, along with BOC board members Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa and Bader Nasser and projects director Lounes Madene.
During the ceremony, the Golden Shield was offered to Mothercare, Lulu Hypermarket, Out of the Box and the Ministry of Labor and Social Development and the Ministry of Education. The bronze shield went to Steel Mark, Al Nooh and Magic Bubbles for advertising.
BOC also held a special honor for one of the Baby Olympics youngster Rashid Fahd Al Buainain, who was presented with a special gift in recognition of his outstanding participation at the Olympics and defying his physical disability with encouragement.
On the occasion, Askar thanked all the sponsors and contributors of the first Baby Olympics. He said that this support has had the greatest impact on the success of the first sporting event for children in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He also expressed pride in the distinguished partnership between the Olympic Committee and those supporting institutions, and wished continuous cooperation to the promotion of sports.
