?Nurseries and pre-schools officials commended the step undertaken by the Bahrain Olympic Committee to launch the First Baby Games, to be held from May 5 to 10 in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, and the Ministry of Education.
They noted the positive implications of this trend in creating a healthy generation of athletes, thus contributing to add more hero athletes representing the Kingdom at international competitions.
Senior physical education specialist at the Ministry of Education Dr. Nawal Janahi affirmed that the course is a crucial step to develop Bahrain’s children academically and educationally, in addition to developing it to make future achievements for their nation in the sports field.
She said the games would greatly contribute to promoting the Olympic values and principles in Bahrain, and consolidates the concept of sport as a way of life. She thanked Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president, for his support for this initiative.
Disney Nursery’s principle Maryam Radi said she is pleased for taking part in this first-of-its kind event in Bahrain, and noted that the games would assist the kids in developing their overall capabilities.
“Never quit, never give up. From this point, we encourage our children to participate in Bahrain Baby Games. Because, we trust children’s abilities in different aspects. We believe that the event will inspire our kids to learn about teamwork, dedication and the power of practice. 
Little Stars Nursery Pre School principle Shirley Giles stressed the importance of the Baby Games, which has mental and health benefits for those young participants, and a way to explore their skills in a healthy environment.
“We are very happy to participate in this lovely event, which facilitates in bringing all the Nursery Schools in Bahrain together. It is very important to instill the importance of Physical Education into our young ones from a very early age. We thank His Highness Shaikh Nasser for this wonderful initiative and look forward to many future events,” she said.
Planet Pre-school founder and principle Renu Varma said she is delighted to have been invited to take part in the first edition of the games, which she described as an opportunity for the children to avoid wrong practices such as the overuse of video games.
“It is indeed a proud honor to be a part of such a great motivational event. Today, as research shows that the importance of physical activity in children is stronger than ever due to their profound attraction towards the new technologies and gadgets,” said Renu.
On her part, Very Berry Nursery principle Nepal Badr said: “We are delighted to take part in Bahrain First Baby Games. Parents, educators and children will enjoy participating in such a great event. It is highly valued to teach children that taking part in any sport is extremely more important than competing and winning”.
Al Shorooq Pre School principle Noora Albinkhalil shared the same thoughts as she expressed happiness to participate in the games, which is an ideal experience for the kids to explore their abilities and skills at various sports to create a wonderful environment of fun and joy.
