The Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Anti-Doping Committee is holding tomorrow (Saturday, June 21) an awareness symposium under the slogan ‘fighting doping in sport’.
Open for all sports federations, the symposium is scheduled to begin at 10am and will take place at the National Stadium’s Conference Hall in Riffa.
Anti-Doping Committee chairman Dr Hussain Al Haddad will present the symposium, which aims to spread the awareness among the sport community in Bahrain to fight this dangerous phenomena.
Al Haddad said the subjects of the symposium include introducin the latest developments in regards to fighting doping International Code, issued by the World Anti-doping Agency (WADA) to the participants.
It will also cover the banned substances in 2014, and the last adjustments made to the sanctions provision, which was toughened in order to fight doping.
Al Haddad stressed the importance of attending this particular symposium, especially with a number of international events coming up such as the 17th Incheon Asian Games next month, and urged those interested in taking part to show full intercalation in order to achieve the aspired goals.
