?Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) acting general secretary Abdulrahman Askar yesterday (Feb. 18) visited the Bahrain national team training at the shooting range in Rafaa, in Sakhir where he met Bahrain Shooting Association (BSA) general secretary Dawood Al Manea and members of the team.
During his visit, joined by BOC sports affairs executive director Jehad Khalfan, Askar toured the BSA facilities and was briefed on the plans and programmes of the association.
Al Manea also presented the association’s procedures to add archery to its range of sports, as well as a plan to assign a professional coach for this discipline, which will soon have a private arena to host different competitions and practice sessions.
On his part, Askar noted the successful approach of the association as well as the programmes and activities, thanks to president Shaikh Salman bin Khalid Al Khalifa, who is working hard in an attempt to develop the standard of their sports in the region.
Askar added that the committee, headed by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, spares no effort in supporting the association in accordance with the available resources, noting that the BOC is keen to visit all sports associations and provide all that would contribute to help them do their tasks to the full.
