?Bahrain Olympic Committee acting general secretary Abdulrahman Askar visited the qBahrain Athletics Association premises and met its vice-president Mohammed Jalal.The visit was part of the committee’s new strategy to extend its communication with sports associations and look into its plans and programs at various levels.During the visit, Askar lauded the efforts of the association, under the presidency of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to raise the level of athletics in Bahrain and enable it compete on an international level.Askar stressed the keenness of the Bahrain Olympic Committee to provide different types of support to the athletics association and its bids to develop various pillars of its sport system.Both parties also discussed the administrative and technical issues of the association, and also reviewed its complete plan to take part in different championship, the most significant of which is the Asian Games to be held in Incheon, in South Korea next year.Jalal also briefed Askar on the association’s long plan to prepare its athletes for the Olympic Games in 2016 and 2020.Jalal expressed gratitude on behalf of the association to the Bahrain Olympic Committee and its president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, praising the keenness of Askar for his continuingly communicating with all the sports associations in Bahrain.He noted the association’s plan to adopt a new strategy to further develop the march of athletics in Bahrain and expand its achievements in various sporting events.
