?Under the patronage of the Assistant secretary-general of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and general secretary of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, the BOC has recently organized a graduation ceremony for the fourth level of the National Coaching Program (NCP) the “Golden Tulip” hotel.
Present at the ceremony were BOC board member, HE Sheikha Hayat Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, director of leadership development center in Kuwait, Mahmood Abol, representative of the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC), Peter Niedre, other BOC officials and a number of most prominent sports figures.
The event started with a short documentary about achievements and outcomes of the NCP that is fully supervised by the training and development center at the BOC in partnership with CAC. After that, head of the training and development center, Nabeel Taha, gave a speech in which he congratulated the leadership on the National Day hailing the unlimited support that the program and the BOC receives from representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the SCYS, President of BOC, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, expressing his pride over graduation of a large number of national coaches in this level which, he said, is considered one of the highest in the field of coaching as it contains huge amounts of scientific and practical knowledge in various sports sciences. Taha described graduates of this level as “finest and competent” as they, he said, knew the value of what they learned and should use it in improving their country through performing their jobs in the world of training and coaching. He assured that coaches are the backbone of the sports development process, expressing his thanks and gratitude to the sponsors and partners like “Lucky Gulf” company, the Ministry of Interior, the Bahrain Defence Force, the University of Bahrain and the Ministry of Education.
In his speech, CAC representative, Peter Niedre, expressed his pride over the close cooperation between CAC and BOC over the past 18 years. He said that Bahrain has become an important center for teaching and conducting NCP in the Middle East, pointing out that the program contributed to achieve a great quality leap for the Bahraini coach through graduating a large number coaches armed with the latest science and applications in the field of training. He expressed admiration for the coaches’ examinations results in the fourth level which, he said, reflected the efficiency of the Bahraini coach. Niedre urged all coaches to benefit from the NCP describing it as wealth of knowledge in the field of coaching and training, calling on all graduates to go through courses that hone their abilities and not to stop at a certain point.
The honorees’ speech was delivered by national coach, Khalid Al-Harban, who congratulated the leadership on the national day, praising the prominent role of the BOC in developing skills of the national coaches and trainers through making the NCP available for all. He said that the NCP provides training that is based on valid scientific grounds including a set of mental and psychological tests, measurements and exercises and provides coaches with training basics.
