?Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) acting general secretary Abdulrahman Sadeq Askar received at his office representatives of the World Academy of Sport (WAoS).WAoS Director Chris Solly, Brand and IF Relations Director Michael Cary, in addition to Academic and Research Professor Gordon Mandry are in Bahrain to manage the Sports Organisations Management Programme.The first module was held at the BOC Sports Training and Development Section, located at Manama Club premises in Juffair.Askar welcomed the visiting delegation, commending the strong ties between the BOC and the WAoS which has led to agreement on the dissemination of standardized best practice through this programme, while will lead to greater success and sustainability across the National Sporting Federations.Askar hoped to further boost the cooperation between the two parties in order to develop sports movement in Bahrain. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the academy officials for their efforts to qualify and develop management cadres in Bahrain.On their part, the academy representatives lauded the approach of the BOC in qualifying  national sports federations’ officials, which reflects the awareness of the committee on the importance of linking science with sport to achieve the best results, and expressed appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the BOC in this area.
