Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant secretary general and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) secretary general Abdulrahman Askar met representatives of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on the sidelines of the recently-concluded XXIII ANOC General Assembly and ANOC Awards 2018 in Tokyo.
Joined by BOC projects director Lounes Madene, Askar had fruitful meetings with the upcoming Olympics’ officials and held talks on Bahrain’s participation in this major international sporting gathering.
Askar also had discussions with the organisers on Bahrain’s bid in hosting the next regional forum of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and Olympic Solidarity in February 2019, which is scheduled as part of the Bahrain National Sports Day, scheduled for February 13.
Bahrain had hosted this forum back in 2014, which was a great success and received large number of attention with broad participants from National Olympic Committees from around Asia, and concluded with a number of significant recommendations.
The Secretary General also met with the directorate of legislation and regulations of National Olympic Committees to discuss several issues related to this area.
