Askar meets Pakistan football delegation chief

Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar yesterday received at his office in Seef head of Pakistan national football team Asghar Khan, who are holding a training camp in Bahrain.
During the meeting, Askar welcomed the Pakistan delegation in Bahrain and stressed the importance of further bolstering ties with other National Olympic Committees as well as overseas sports federations in order to achieve joint benefit.
Askar also praised the strong ties linking Bahrain with Pakistan in all fields, especially sports, and called for more cooperation and coordination between the two sides in an attempt to achieve common interests for the two parties.
The BOC general secretary noted the development of football in Pakistan, and expressed pride for Pakistan Football Federation signing Bahraini coach Mohammed Al Shamlan to coach their national senior team.
He also noted the previous stage of the Pakistan team under the helm of another Bahraini coach Salman Sharida, which underlines the abilities enjoyed by the Bahraini football coaches, and wished Pakistan sports progress.
On his part, Khan extended his appreciation and thanks to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its warm welcome and generousity during the delegation camp, and noted the significant cooperation from the Bahrain Olympic Committee and the Bahrain Football Association in providing all that would ensure the success of their objectives.
