?Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar recently received newly-elected presidents of the swimming and disabled sports federations at his office in Seef, in the presence of BOC board member Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
Askar welcomed both the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation president Shaikh Mohammed bin Daij Al Khalifa and Bahrain Swimming Association president Shaikh Mohammed bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa and congratulated them on their new posts.
He also conveyed the greetings of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and his best wishes to them on their appointments, which he attributed to their abilities and experiences in the sports administrative field.
Askar noted that the BOC spares no effort in providing all means of support to both federations in order to achieve more honourable results for Bahrain sport.
The BOC general secretary stressed the importance of adopting useful programmes and strategies, aimed to promote the successes achieved by the swimming and disabled sports federations in the past period.
Shaikh Abdulla congratulated both officials on their new designations and expressed confidence in their abilities to lead their respective federations towards wider horizons of development.
On their part, both sports federations’ chiefs expressed pride for this precious confidence of Shaikh Nasser, stressing their keenness to move forward to support the swimming and disabled sports, and continue where the previous boards of directors have left off to achieve more accomplishments that would strengthen Bahrain’s position on the global sport map.
