Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar yesterday received Lebanese Olympic Committee President Jan Hammam, who is on a short visit to Bahrain to attend the final of the 17th Under-20 Asian Volleyball Championship.

Hammam was also welcomed on arrival by Bahrain Volleyball Association general secretary Feras Al Halwachi and BVA board member Mohammed Al Fardan.
During the reception, Askar conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to the visitor, and praised the strong ties linking Bahrain and Lebanon at all fields, especially in sports.
Askar also lauded the excellent reputation of the Lebanese Olympic Committee and the Lebanese Volleyball Association, and expressed the kingdom of Bahrain’s readiness to open prospects for bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
On his part, Hammam expressed thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the warm reception, and said he is proud for attending the final of the Asian Championship, which Bahrain succeeded to host at all levels.
